About the Name

The title of this blog, Yeager the Younger, is a tribute to the man who got me writing in the first place, my father. The logo is a relic of its original name, Spoons and Swords, which served as my first lesson that “publish or perish” also applies outside academia; I was too slow. I decided to keep the picture because it reflects the eclecticity and eccentricity of the topics I want to explore. Many thanks to Autumn Rizzo for creating it!

I arrived at Spoons and Swords through a combination of the nonsense words Runcible Spoon and Vorpal Sword. To me, it’s a juxtaposition of chaos and order, life and death, and hilarity and gravity, among a plethora of other interpretations.
